After 21 years with American Family Insurance Company, I made the decision to become an independent agent so I could offer our clients many options and choices for their insurance needs. September 1st of 1998  Insurance Broker of MN, Inc was formed and we have grown from representing 5 major insurance companies to over 50. We are spread across the state with 37 locations and 41 agents.

We are blessed to be a family-run operation with my wife Brita handles all the accounting operations,  my sons, Aaron and Aric are both agents for over 15 years. Another son Adam works at a group home and part-time in our accounting department. I have a daughter Ashley who graduated from Bethel College and has recently joined the Insurance Brokers team as a commercial lines account manager. My daughter in law Jamie Sorenson has joined the agency.

My family and I live in the Isanti area where we enjoy working in our local church over the years in various positions along with serving in community activities. We love being outdoors and entertaining friends and family at our lake home…boating, fishing, bicycling, and other outdoor activities.

I’ve been honored to serve on the board of directors, and other hands-on functions at Fishing For Life, TLC Toys and Marie Sandvik Center all are nonprofit organizations that help needy families. We have been sponsoring and supporting the Fishing For Life program in MN for the past 8 years. I have served on the AAA Advisory Board, State Auto Ins Co National Advisory Board, Member of the Anoka Chamber, North Metro Chamber, Twin Cities Home Builders Assoc., North Metro Realtors Assoc.,
