After honorably serving in the United States Army, Derek entered the insurance and financial services industry in June, 1997 and went on to purchase Insurance Brokers of MN, Inc. in Jordan, MN with his wife Beth in 2017. During his career, he has earned designations from the College for Financial Planning and The American College. He is a past member of the Million Dollar Round Table and Court of the Table and has earned numerous industry awards such as the National Quality Award along with achieving Life Sales Manager of the Year in 2015 and 2016 with the Auto Club Group. In addition to being committed to his clients, Derek has held several leadership roles throughout his career encompassing recruiting, training, and development.

In his free time, you will find Derek enjoying time golfing, fishing and hunting with family and friends and exploring different countries around the world. Derek is also a member of the American Legion and a Lifetime Member of the Disabled American Veterans.
